Firepower ‘Ikale Tahi Starts Well The Firepower ‘Ikale Tahi Team starts Pre-Tournament campaign in a high note beating the Auckland B Team last night. Tongan fans from around the Auckland region gathered at the Ponsonby Rugby Stadium to watch the ‘Ikale Tahi play their first RWC warm up game. The ‘Ikale Tahi scored 6 tries to 2 winning the game 34 12 at Full-Time. The National Side scored 15 unanswered points in the first spell, before awarding Auckland B with 2 tries in the second spell and scoring 3 of their own. The ‘Ikale Tahi Team and Management were happy with the result, but are well aware of their short coming and are eager to get back and work hard on those areas. “This is a very good indication of where we are now, and what we really need to work on,” admitted Mr. Fielea. Mr. Fielea, Head Coach of the ‘Ikale Tahi also admitted that there is lots of area that needs work on. Highlights of the game; the ‘Ikale Tahi played well in the first half scoring 3 unconverted tries, first try was scored by Vungakoto Lilo in the 6th minute from a clear break by Paddy Power before handing Vunga the ball to score. In the 24th minute Nili Latu took the ball from the ruck dragging 4 Auckland tacklers to the tryline to score their second try. Five minutes before half-time, the ‘Ikale tahi pushed a rolling maul from the 22 to score their 3rd try with Hale T-Pole in the middle of the maul score the try. In the second half, Vunga crossed the line again to score his second try of the game, converted by Pierre Hola. After making most of the damaged, breaks and creating tries, Paddy Power dragged 3 Auckland tacklers to score in the 47th minute. In the 55th minute Pierre Hola punched the Auckland defenders offloading the ball to Tevita Tu’ifua who ran 50m to score their 6th try of the game.
